April - May Prayer Letter 2014

Dear friends and family,
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend.  Praise God, Jesus is risen indeed!
I just wanted to share a few updates and prayer requests for the Keywi Card project:

Please pray for the trade show in Atlanta, Georgia!
This June 22-25, Keywi Cards will be exhibiting at the International Christian Retail Show in Atlanta, Georgia (http://christianretailshow.com/).  Nearly every major Christian bookstore retailer and distributor will be there along with many well-know Christian authors and speakers.  As you can imagine, preparations for this show are quite extensive and I have often felt stressed and overwhelmed over the last few weeks.  I could really use prayer for balance, guidance, wisdom, and time management.  There are so many things that still need to be accomplished in a short period of time.  I'm making a catalog, designing hang tags and UPC labels, sourcing displays for the cards, designing and creating a booth for the show, updating my website and blog, and creating new flashcards and skins.  In addition, I'm still developing and improving the Keywi cards themselves to be more cost effective and locally manufactured.  Prayer over every part of this process would be much appreciated!  I trust God's will and plan over all of this.  I know He cares about every detail and He is with me in each step.  At the same time, I know that I can't do any of this alone.  Your prayer and support are so important to me!

More Updates:
* 100 Psalm 91 Keywis were sent to Operation Soldier Care, the ministry of the First Baptist Church of Naples, Florida.  Please pray for the troops who will receive these Keywis and for God's word to truly take root in their hearts.

*Just last week, Chip Ingram spoke at my local church on spiritual warfare.  He emphasized the importance of scripture memory.  Even though I hadn't planned on it in advance, I gave him four Keywis after the service and explained my project to him, asking if he might be interested in writing a set of verses to memorize.  He was very positive about the idea and I'm told he shared it in the following service as well as with some pastors and leaders over lunch.  Whatever develops, please pray for God's will and purpose in this.

Ongoing Prayer Requests: Please pray over each person who has or who will receive a Keywi Bible verse set.

*Ask God to "till up the soil" of their hearts to receive His word for lasting fruitfulness (Matthew 13:3-9 and John 15:4,5,16).  Also pray for the Holy Spirit to stir up an insatiable hunger for God's Word and to illuminate its meaning for repentance, application, and heart regeneration.

*Please continue to pray for each soldier touched by the Psalm 91 Keywi project.  Pray for their spiritual and physical protection, especially according to each verse of Psalm 91

Thank you all so much again for lifting up these requests to our gracious and loving Father!  I am so grateful for your prayers and I plan to continue to keep you updated as this project moves forward.

In Christ,

Ursula Brush

God's Word

As I look back over the last ten years of my life and back to that moment when I memorized Psalm 138:8 in 2003, “ The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; Your love, O Lord, endures forever, do not abandon the works of Your hands .” (NIV ’83) I’m reminded of one thing that remained constant throughout those years: God’s word. As I was pursuing various career paths, jobs, classes, businesses, and relationships, one thing remained the same: God, His enduring love, and the faithfulness of His word and His promises. In the midst of all we go through and all we encounter in life, God has given us the unshakable and unchangeable truth of His word. God’s word is truth that endures forever because by His very nature, God is eternal and unchangeable. Jesus said: “ Heaven and earth will pass away but my words will never pass away ” (Matt 24:35, NIV) The apostle Peter quoted Isaiah: “ All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the ...

Coffee and Isaias 53:4-6

Wrapping my hands around my coffee mug, I began gingerly: "Ciertamente él cargó con nuestras enfermedades y soportó nuestros dolores..." ...I paused mid-sentence and cleared my throat, I didn't want my Spanish-speaking friend to think I was just showing-off my scripture knowledge, but his eager eyes coaxed me to continue: "pero nosotros lo consideramos herido, golpeado por Dios, y humillado..." I paused again, this time searching for the next line. Why couldn't I remember? Even though this was something I had memorized, conversing in Spanish was still a bit of a challenge for me... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Tomey, a friend I had met in Spain, had met up with me for coffee that evening.  After exchanging some small talk, seemingly out of nowhere he had asked me about my relationship with Jesus...with genuine interest.
